Legacy Planning in Neptune City
You worked a long time for what you have. We help you decide where it goes, check that your accounts and policies actually say that, and write it down so your family is not left guessing. We work alongside your attorney and tax preparer, not around them.

What legacy planning means here
Legacy planning is the money side of passing things on. A will and trust come from your attorney. Our job is to make sure the accounts, beneficiary forms and life insurance behind those papers point the same way, and that the plan still works for the people you leave behind.
This matters more than most people think. The beneficiary named on an IRA, a 401(k) or a life policy usually controls who gets that money, even if your will says something different. We see old forms naming an ex-spouse or a parent who has passed far more often than you would guess.
It is the right call if you have children or grandchildren, own a business, have remarried, or simply want to know your affairs are in order. Clients come to us from Neptune City and nearby towns like Belmar and Wall, and we meet at our office or by phone and video.

What the work includes
- 01
Beneficiary review
We pull every account and policy and list who is named on each one. Then we fix the gaps and the outdated names so they match your wishes.
- 02
A written legacy summary
You get a plain document that shows what you own, where it is held and who receives it. Your executor can pick it up and know where to start.
- 03
Life insurance review
We are licensed to sell life insurance, so we can look at whether your coverage fits the job you want it to do. Sometimes that means covering an estate cost or evening out an inheritance. Sometimes it means you already have enough and should leave it alone.
- 04
Investment accounts lined up with the plan
Since we are Series 7 licensed, we can look at how inherited accounts would be handled and how your portfolio is titled. Small changes here can make things much simpler for heirs.
- 05
Coordination with your attorney and CPA
We are not lawyers and do not draft wills or trusts. We share our notes with your attorney and tax preparer, with your permission, so everyone works from the same picture.
- 06
Family conversations
If you want, we help you explain the plan to your kids. A short sit-down now prevents a lot of hurt feelings later.

Call(732) 655-2079Signs it is time to look at your legacy plan
Your forms are years old
If you have not looked at your beneficiary designations since you opened the account, there is a good chance something is out of date.
Your family has changed
Marriage, divorce, a new grandchild or a death in the family all change who should receive what.
You own a business
Without a plan, a business can stall the day the owner is gone. Someone needs to know what happens to it and who decides.
You want to leave money outside the immediate family
New Jersey has an inheritance tax. Spouses, children and grandchildren are generally exempt, but siblings, nieces, nephews and friends may not be. That is worth planning around with your tax preparer.
Nobody knows where things are
If your spouse or kids could not list your accounts and policies today, a written summary alone would help them a great deal.
How we work through it
- 1
Introductory meeting
We sit down at our office or by video and talk about your family and what you want to leave behind. You do not need anything prepared for this first talk.
- 2
Gather the paperwork
We give you a short list: account statements, policy pages, any current will or trust. We do the sorting so you do not have to.
- 3
Review and recommendations
We walk you through what we found in plain terms. That includes mismatched beneficiaries, gaps in coverage and anything worth raising with your attorney. You decide what to change.
- 4
Make the changes
We help you update forms and adjust accounts, and we send notes to your attorney and CPA if you want them included. Then you get your written summary.
- 5
Check in over time
Life keeps moving. We revisit the plan when your family or finances change, so it does not quietly fall out of date.
What affects the cost
There is no single price for legacy planning because no two families look alike. We explain how we are paid at the introductory meeting, before any work starts. If something would add to the cost, we tell you up front.
- Number of accounts and policies
- Three accounts at one firm take less time than a dozen spread across old employers and banks.
- Business ownership
- Owning a business adds succession questions, valuation and more coordination with your attorney.
- Family situation
- Blended families, heirs with special needs or gifts to people outside the family take more care to get right.
- One-time review or ongoing help
- Some clients want a single cleanup. Others want us managing investments and checking the plan each year as part of our wealth management work.
Legacy planning questions
Do you write wills or trusts?
No. We are not attorneys, and those documents should come from one. We handle the financial side and work with your attorney so the accounts and paperwork agree. If you do not have an attorney, we can talk about what to look for in one.
I already have a will. Why would I need this?
A will does not control everything. Retirement accounts and life insurance usually pass by the beneficiary form, not the will. We check that those forms match what your will says, which is where many plans quietly break.
Will you just try to sell me life insurance?
No. We can offer coverage, and sometimes a policy is the right tool for leaving money behind. Often it is not. If your current coverage is enough, or you do not need any, we will say so plainly and leave it there.
How does this fit with retirement planning?
They go hand in hand. Retirement planning makes sure your money lasts while you are living. Legacy planning covers what happens after. We usually look at both together so one does not undercut the other.
What makes your approach different?
Our advisor is a credentialed holistic financial coach through Columbia University. In practice that means we look at the whole picture, including family dynamics and what you care about, not just the account balances.
